Revision Spine Surgery
History
Patient was presented to Samved Orthopaedic Hospital with low back pain radiating to left lower limb. He was operated for the same problem 15 months back, but again that problem has reoccurred. On MRI he was diagnosed with L4-5 Prolapsed Inter vertebral Disc failed back syndrome with left lower limb radiculopathy.
On examination, he has a sensory weakness in L5 dermatome on left side and instability at L4-5.
He was operated for Laminectomy and Disectomy L4-5 with root decompression and for instability, pedicle screws in L4-5 with cage at L4-5 with bone grafting and fusion L4-5 done as a part of operative treatment.
Post Operative ConditionPost operatively radiating pain has gone and patient is better.

History
Patient aged 29 years presented with us with complaints of severe pain with numbness in his upper limb. He was diagnosed prolapsed inter vertebral disc at C5-6 level. He was operated for disectomy C5-6 with root decompression and fusion with bone graft and locking compression plate.

Post operatively patient is doing well.

History
77 year old female presented with pain and instability in left knee post her knee replacement surgery done elsewhere
On clinical evaluation and xrays the knee joint was found to be unstable and hence a decision to do a revision knee replacement on left knee was taken

After her revision surgery the left knee is stable. The patient is extremely happy with the result and walking 2 kms daily.

History
Patient came from kenya and complained of difficulty in walking after undergoing left knee replacement surgery elsewhere.
On evaluation the knee joint was found to be unstable, resulting in the problem.
Pre operation X-RayRevision left knee replacement was done in which the previous implants were removed and new implants with extension rods both in tibia and femur were implanted.
Patient started walking from the next day and is extremely satisfied by the result.

History
70 year old female presented to us with severe pain in left knee.
On examination it was found that she is having advanced osteoarthritis of left knee along with a stress fracture.
Pre operation X-RayShe was operated for left knee replacement in which a special extension rod was used to fix the tibia fracture.
Patient was mobilized from the next day and doing very good without any pain in her knee.
Post operation X-RayNeck Pain in Adolescent Girl
History
12 year old young girl presented to us with severe pain in neck along with weakness of upper limb.
On clinical examination and further investigations it was found that she is suffering from rare disease : congenital atlanto axial subluxation with fused vertebra , meaning that the bones of the neck are not in proper alignment, causing pressure on the spinal cord leading to her problem.

A Decision to operate the girl was taken, where in the pressure on the spinal cord was surgically removed along with instrumentation. The girl recovered dramatically and is doing extremely well.

History
Female patient presented to us with severe pain in her left arm and unable to move it; after a fall in which she suffered a very bad fracture of her left distal humerus
She was operated, where a plate was used to fix the fracture and also bone graft were placed. The fracture united and the patient is able to do all her activities.

Peri Prosthetic Fracture Post TKR
History
78 year old lady had a fall from bike sustaing injury to her left leg.she had previously underwent knee replacement in the same leg.
On examination she was having peri prosthetic fracture of left distal femur

Open Reduction and internal fixation of the fracture was done using locking titanium plate. The fracture united well and the lady was back to her routine activities.

History
66 year old male presented with complains of abnormal mobility in right thigh along with inability to bear weight. He had been living with this problem for the last 10 years. He had been opearted elsewhere for his right femur fracture 12 years back and since that surgery had failed he carried on with it for 10 years living with disability. He was finally motivtaed here at samved hospital when the team of doctors convinced him that his problem can be solved and he will be walking like a normal person again if he follows our advice.
We took him for a major operation in which the broken nail was removed after making a window in bone at the level of broken implant. Further fracture fixation was done with locking titanium plate and bone grafts were placed at fracture site. Today the patient is walking like a normal person since all his problems have resolved and regrets on wasting such a long time before getiing the right treatment.

History
Old lady presented to us with severe pain in back for a month after a minor fall at home. On investigations it was found she is having a fracture in one of her back bones due to osteoporosis.she was unable to walk because of the pain and was extremely depressed.
We did a unique procedure in which while the patient was awake we injected special bone cement in the collapsed vertebra using a very special kit. The patient was made to walk an hour after the procedure and she was amazed how her pain had dissapeared.

History
18 year old male who had recently joined his college came to us with a deformity in his leg which was first noticed by his parents when he was 2 years of age. They hadnt got any treatment so far thinking that it coudnt be cured. Finally when they came to samved hospital, a diagnosis of congenital pseudoarthrosis tibia was made in which the leg bone has a gap inbetween which acts like a joint. The patient was counselled and explained that there is a good prognosis provided he follows our guidelines.
Multiple opeartions were done on his leg , gradually correcting the deformity and very soon the leg was straight and the patient had started putting weight on it. Now he is just like any other college going person.
